Okay, but here’s what they don’t tell you about the SME community amidst the challenges (which all things have):
We show each other so much grace and understanding, and by that I don’t mean we allow ourselves to be mediocre. No. We do our best with the resources that are at our disposal, and because we understand the limitations we have – which are sometimes just imagined – we interact with care. I connect with enough of this community to declare this confidently.
In the SME space, the spirit of ubuntu gets to breathe and weaknesses that are ordinarily shamed often bring heads together instead – because this path is for those who have an innate will to explore relentlessly and find their way. Emphasis on “THEIR WAY”.
I appreciate that we dare to walk on this path that oppressive authorities of the world wouldn’t want us to consider. There is this beautiful spirit of humanity that we are resuscitating and no matter how slowly that pulse returns, it is a massive deal that we are its portal as we work.
I will not get into disclaimers about the challenges – those are a given and very easy to find all over the internet. It is only this here aspect of our story that I wish to highlight for now.
I wish you and I the best as we continue.
